Project: A Place Called Body
Body image in metaphorical cognition)

A fallen body, facing the sky or facing the ground, shining or revealed by pigment. A standing body, wrapped in garlands of bread or flowers, or shrouded by a cape of dough. A body folded, evoking the identifiable asanas positions of yoga. Such proportions, in photographic forms or in installations, impact via their evident simplicity; the affirmation of a presence in the world. Since the body is the vector of the sensitive experience of space and times it is the place.
Debesh Goswami exhibited his first action experiments –Productions of his own body- in 2002(From my Garden), which promoted several years of works in sculpture (modeling and casting), of which the essential theme was natural processes of trance formation in time. These works treat the metamorphosis and renaissance of organic elements that govern the energy and the vital cycle of the living.
